Regional living for artist Juju Roche

Living in Regional NSW artist Juju Roche embraces all that it entails. Relocating from Sydney to the family farm where she grew up just outside of Wagga Wagga, Juju’s creative practice has been inherently influenced through her sense of place in nature.

The large scale canvases line her wool shed studio, a stones throw from the family homestead. Juju’s works are created both inside and outside the studio, with the artist leaving her artworks outside overnight exposing them to the harsh winter climate, letting nature take its course. “I surrender aesthetic control over the outcome, inviting the viewer to consider humanity’s innate desire to control Mother Nature.” - Juju Roche

Juju Roche’s upcoming exhibition Unearth is on display at the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery from the 3 August - 22 September, 2019.
